Community members in the Big Sandy region have recognized Jessicca Justice, an Addiction Recovery Care employee, with the “Best in the Valley” award. The award celebrates individuals who make significant contributions and positively influence the community.
Jessicca’s journey to this moment has been anything but easy. For nearly 20 years, she found herself trapped in a relentless cycle of addiction. Despite managing a seemingly functional life, the facade eventually crumbled — leading to numerous arrests and repeated stints in treatment programs like drug court.
During her second opportunity at inpatient treatment, Jessicca had an epiphany: she was the only one who could change her life. This realization marked the beginning of her commitment to self-improvement and recovery. Since then, she has tirelessly worked on herself, striving to become someone she always knew she could be.
Receiving the “Best in the Valley” award is a testament to Jessicca’s personal dedication and powerful influence she has had on others.
“This award, to me, means that I am making a positive impact in the lives of other people. I am so honored and grateful,” Jessicca shared.
Jessicca now uses her story here at ARC to inspire others, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and understood.
To those battling addiction, Jessicca encouraged: “Go into recovery with open-mindedness, honesty, and willingness. Persist! Do not give up, even if you slip; keep going.”
